- Questions you have with which your colleagues may be able to provide help and support
- I would want to know if many people think that a PowerPoint is a good way to get present information or not. If this is not, what would they suggest?
- Resources and information you are seeking I need to know how much detail needs to be in the presentation and how long it should be. I want to make the presentation exciting and not boring by making it to simple or to over their heads but make it to where everyone can understand the information.
- Resources and/or information you have found helpful and insightful I found the information from websites very useful as well as talks with teachers and parents. I like the honesty used and the sharing of ideas presented.

I am doing a PowerPoint for my presentation because I feel that is a better way to keep people focused. People are able to read and follow along as you present. I am also going to give everyone a copy of the PowerPoint. I will encourage them to write down any questions that they might have about my presentation on the PowerPoint. I my opinion a PowerPoint is the best way to present and if you feel comfortable doing it, then you should do it as well.
ReplyDeleteI believe if you are comfortable with using a power point presentation, then use it. If you are not comfortable with making one, or using it, then I would not put yourself in that position. You want to be as confident as you can be.
ReplyDeleteI also think you can make an outline of all the main points you want to hit, and practice the presentation a few times to time it. I told my people I would need about 15 minutes of their time. I believe that is enough time to grab their attention, talk for a bit, and elicit feed back. If the conversation is going well, then it can go over that time, and that is a good sign!
Hi Marcie,
ReplyDeleteI how did your presentation go? Did you decide to do a power point or handouts and discussion?
In any case I am sure it went well. Well the winter semester is coming to an end and i don't know about you but I am in great need of a break! I am sure you are as well, like many of our other colleagues.
I want to thank you for responding to my posts and sharing information about the family in your program. I hope they are able to get the help they need. I will continue to advocate for a heightened awareness about childhood obesity.
I wish you the best in your advocacy work with children and families and hope that you enjoy your spring break.
best wishes in all your future endeavors...Take Care!
